A laptop PC can be connected to a projector using any of these methods:

What about the USB? Only a few projectors can be connected to a laptop via USB, you will probably have to use any of these methods already mentioned.

Connect a projector to a laptop using a VGA (RGB) cable

TIP: To avoid problems switch on the laptop after connecting and switching in everything else.

PLEASE NOTE: If your video or presentation has sound or music you should have some audio system. Integrated speakers in laptops and projectors have very little power. If you need help with the sound please contact us.

These are the simple steps to connect a projector to a laptop with a VGA cable:

  1. Check your laptop to make sure it has a VGA connector (also known as RGB). See image #1.
  2. Plug in the VGA cable to the laptop.
  3. Look for the VGA connectors in the projector and plug in the VGA cable in any of the VGA IN connectors (see Image #2). Be careful, do not plug the connector in the VGA OUT connector.
  4. Switch the projector on.
  5. Switch the laptop on.

Now you should see the image in the projector.

Connect a projector to a laptop using a HDMI cable

PLEASE NOTE: When connecting your laptop via HDMI cable the mini-jack audio connector in the laptop may get disabled. Remember this if you want to use an external speaker.

  1. Check your laptop to make sure it has a HDMI connector. See image #5.
  2. Plug in the HDMI cable to the laptop.
  3. Look for the HDMI connectors in the projector and plug in the HDMI cable in any of them.
  4. Switch the projector on.
  5. Switch the laptop on.
